Sala I
The increasing interest in the classical world during the Renaissance leads to the creation of the first Valencian Cabinet of Antiquities, focused on coins and inscriptions. The main reference for our archaeological studies is the creation, in 1871, of the Archaeological Society of Valencia and the work of Juan Vilanova y Piera, who introduced Prehistory studies in Spain.
